This is a faint glimmer of hope for those aspiring to become internet brazillionaires.
Some guy decides to sell on eBay a 200 year old bottle of ale, but accidentally leaves out one “P” in the brand name. A lucky bargain hunter just happens to see the auction and – realizing the value of the bottle – spends a healthy $300 only to resell it on eBay for half a million a little later.
I can almost hear his keyboard being smashed.

For those who keep scouring the Internet looking for ways of become rich beyond belief (may be an exaggeration), this will be either interesting or infuriating. Or maybe a combination of both.

Basically, one lucky guy was able to make an incredible profit on eBay by buying a rare item for a negligible price, basically ripping off the original seller at the same time. He was hence able to buy an item for less than $350.

This happened because the original seller stupidly made a typo in the listing title, which happens rather frequently on eBay. In this particular case, he made a misprint error and listed "ALLSOPP" as "ALLSOP", which means that his item would not be returned by users making a search for ALLSOPP items. You'd think people who are about place to an item for sale on eBay would at least ensure that the items are properly listed. I mean, it doesn't take that much effort to read a small paragraph at least thrice.

Taking advantage of this misspelling, one clever guy won the auction for a mere $350 and went on to resell the item for a staggering $500'000+.

Additionally, his smart auction promotion as the "oldest known sealed bottle of beer in the world" helped item price to skyrocket and attract 74'000+ auction views.

As for me, this is an awesome demonstration of a fact that today virtually everyone can make a HUGE bucks in a short time. All you need is your brain and a bit of luck, that's it.

I'm very happy for this guy and wish him to complete this sale successfully. He deserves it :)
